Watched Burnt Offerings today. Can you believe it was the first time I'd ever seen it, even though I love horror movies from that era. I thought it was decent, although the pacing really dragged at points. And the ending did leave me scratching my head a bit.

Watched an early 80s slasher I had missed, The Prowler. Was better than I was expecting, I love me an 80s slasher. Also loved that the main girl looked so real, pretty but in a low-key way that wasn't all overdone like a Megan Fox. She had an Amy Steel quality I liked. In fact, I don't know if this came first or Friday 2, but there were several scenes that seemed lifted.

Not horror but I watched the movie "Boondock Saints" on Demand. Good movie. I need to watch the second one again.

Horsemen with Dennis Quiad. Compelling but the ending felt flat to me.

Horsemen with Dennis Quiad. Compelling but the ending felt flat to me. I've been wanting to watch this. I think it's free to watch on Netflex.

The Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Very lame. The characters were uninteresting, the CGI was laughable, including Kreuger's cat-like face, and the new elements they brought in regarding Freddy's past and motivations didn't amount to much for me. I grew up on what I called the "Big 3" franchises, halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street, and they've all now been remade, and I've found all three remakes sucked hard. So, Mark, when they pulled off Freddy's hat did he look like Rorschach underneath...? (cue in Jackie Earl Haley's "Rorschach" voice) "Tonight, some teenagers died on Elm Street. Somebody knows why." He may have sucked at Freddy Kreuger but he was perfect as Rorschach.

Unbreakable. Actually the first time I've every seen that flick. I really enjoyed it, and the weird thing is that I now remember that back in the day when the film was first out I read about the "twist" at the end...but I'd forgotten about it so got to be surprised. I think that was the last movie M. Night Shydkfjbnosjbnosnlan did that I really enjoyed. Everything else of his I've seen is so-so at best.

The Road It was ok, depressing, bleak..don't think I'll watch it again soon. Loved the book (I've referred to it as The Stand on steroids). Couldn't get into the movie though.

Just got back from seeing THE TOWN.
My God, what a great movie. Affleck's directorial debut GONE BABY GONE blew me away (it's one of my favorite films of the last decade, in fact), so I've been really wanting to see this.
THE TOWN might have just topped GONE BABY GONE.

Last night I watched the second episode of The Walking Dead. Still enjoying it.
Also recently watched Cube 2: Hypercube, a pretty cool little movie but not as good as the original.
