I finally saw this one everybody's been talking about lately, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE . . . .
Kinda figured it'd be a "one-trick pony." But it really wasn't! While you are waiting for "that moment" from the very first frame of the film, it's still better than just a gimmicky piece of torture-porn. In fact, I was quite impressed with the cinematography, the score, and the acting. The villain of this piece was especially impressive: modern horror needs more mad scientists!
Check it out. An unnerving piece of cinema.

I seen a film called BEAR the other day, figured as I was into nature horror and the like it would be worth a watch... I was wrong. The film was a piece of shit. You know when some dude comes along and recons he can make something awesome with a low budget... they should let him... but if he fails I recons he should be put to death.... and someone else should fim that shit... now that would be something worth watching.

I can't wait to catch this one myself. It was screening pretty close by, but Billie and I didn't get a chance to get out. I'll definitely have to pick it up on dvd. BEAR? That's the one about large, hairy gay men, right Jack? I don't think that was horror, Jack... I really like your idea about what to do with these guys that churn out cinematic shit. At least then, they could really make their mark on the genre. ;D I seen a film called BEAR the other day, figured as I was into nature horror and the like it would be worth a watch... I was wrong. One I've seen several times in the past month and LOVE is THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL. I'm a huge fan of '70s horror, especially some of the more subtle stuff, and the director of this film conjures that vibe beautifully. Each time I watch it, I have a tough time believing that it was only shot a couple years ago. Beautiful cinematography, sound design, and a creepy, slow-burn plot that really heats up at the end. I know some complained that the first half was too slow, but I dug the hell out of it.

Everyone I's told that I watched BEAR said the same thing. I ain't never seen nor been in one of them Big Gay Bear Men flicks. I hear there was a fella that was the spitting image of me in a few cause he was struggling to pay of some layaway or another, but it wasn't me and it wasn't for Infernal House Ed Lee books.

Probably appreciated what the director did with the 70/80's feel more than the actual plot itself. That was pretty damn cool . . . . J.N.

We saw Legion a few weeks ago...what a disappointment. I was totally stoked when I saw the preview but once we watched it, it was pretty lame. Book of Eli (not horror, I know...) was good. Especially if you're religious. If you're not a God-fearing person, don't bother because you won't be able to suspend your belief enough to enjoy it. Predators was okay. It could have been a lot more like the original, as in more gore, and Adrian Brody was acting the Arnold part even though we all know he's a helluva better actor than that...but still, it was okay. Machete is coming out...anyone that watched the Grindhouse Rodriguez flicks will remember it as one of the "fake" commercials...that looks entertaining, and Mila is back in another Resident Evil flick. We got Clash of the Titans a few days ago (I loved the orignal when I was a kid...kept having nightmares about Medusa...creepy) but haven't had a chance to watch it...we'll see.

We saw Inception, best movie I have seen in a long time. Real mind twist but at the same time easy to follow. Really one of those movies you want to see again. Also watched the A-Team hehehehe for the fist time, was great, lots of action, very entertaining

Watched a movie I especially liked, XIII: The Conspiracy- 3 hours long and appeared to be a miniseries. The first woman president is assassinated and it takes off from there. The ending left one with the feeling there would be more to come. Anybody know anything about it?

I think that I was lucky in that I hadn't heard anything about it, and I was going in with NO expectations. I could definitely see how it could fall short for others.
