Since I don't have a thread for this novella, I thought I'd start one. Text in this one is very different for me, although I think the quality of writing is about the same as always--hopefully it will be judged well-written. This one leans a little closer to siction than normal. Some very personal viewpoints from women victims. Ofc this opens a male writer to criticism of being insensitive and politically incorrect. Being titillating. Before anyone makes that judgement though I would hope they'd actually read the whole story. A writer stretches, lets his writing go where it must. As it turns out, this may be one of my better pieces of long fiction. We'll see. Our own Mark Gunnells does the introduction, very perceptive concerning the story, but much too generous about me personally. Appreciate your support when it's available for pre-order. Gene

Thanks, Chris, look forward to your reaction. I might add that I think this unsigned trade paperback will be very affordable. Gene

If you get the newsletter from Sideshow Press, you know DOUBLEJACK is up for pre-order now. $12. Check it out, I think DJ may be a good one. Gene

Oh, and the pre-order bonus is that DJ is only $10 until Sideshow Press releases it the first week in September. Appreciate support on this one, Gene

I hope everyone who can will take advantage of SSP's excellent pre-order sale price of $10 for DOUBLEJACK. I think those who like a little more edgy stuff than what I normally write will love this novella (I'm still a little more right of Wrath and Ed Lee...but not much). thanks for the support, Gene

Doublejack Rocked! I can't remember if I said that already elsewhere, but it bears repeating anyway.

Chris: Glad you liked it. I'm hoping it doesn't cause any knee jerk *politically incorrect* reactions. Gene

I'm hoping to have copies of DJ in hand at Killercon. They are supposedly being delivered here at home on the 20th. I leave early the next morning for Vegas. Oh, man....

Finished reading this yesterday. Great job again Gene. Katy and Johnny are great characters and Jack is a nasty serial killer. You sure know how to write a page turner. Of course, then I find a BIG SURPRISE on page 55. You are so cool and generous - I mean who is this Suzie Kresby and her partner that she says "Call him just plain H, we all do."? Ha ha thanks for making me smile and laugh.
