It all started back in October 2004 when I bought my first limited edition off E-bay. It was TRIAGE by Richard Laymon, Edward Lee and Jack Ketchum. After Richard Laymon died I was just looking around the internet for anything of his that I might have missed, saw TRIAGE and thought that it was pretty expensive but decided as it was signed by him it was worth it... turns out it wasn't signed by him at all and the extra signature was in fact the Editor Matt Johnson, but after a slight disappointment I got stuck in and had a read... that's when the floodgates opened. I'd never even heard of Edward Lee or Jack Ketchum back then... so thank you Richard Laymon for opening my eyes, and damn you for opening my wallet. I was hooked on some proper horror and it all came in such lovely expensive books. It was like some kind of interconnected spider web of authors, each one branching off leading me to new folks and new publishers. Before long I kinda found that I had an appetite for the more hardcore tales (stuff that I like to call Siction) and I was spending more and more trying to get a hold of those books from the US. After a while I decided it might be a good idea to buy the books in bulk and get them over to the UK and sell them to other folks so they wouldn't have to bother with the prohibitive postage getting them imported. Most of my customers tend to be from the UK and Europe but I will ship anywhere in the world where horror is needed. I tend to buy in books by authors I like and pick and choose from publishers looking for things I want. I am locked down with Larry at Bloodletting Press though so anything that comes out through the Bloodletting Press, Morningstar Books and Cargo Cult Press imprints I'm sure to have. And if it's Hardcore Siction and I know about it, I try and make it my business to get in a big 'ol stack of it.
Now while most of my business tends to take place on the bay, this is me trying to branch out and stop giving them so much of my profits, although I swear by the bay and think it's a great place to find stuff and do business. So saying that if there's something you want this is the place to ask me and we can cut down some prices if the bay is not involved. So you can PM me, mail me jack_staynes@hotmail.com or just post it up here in the board cause I ain't got nothing to hide and if you don't either then we can get right down and do shit right infront of all these folks. Paypal is always cool, but if you is local a cheque or postal order is cool too.
My books are all kept boxed and are from a smoke free home, I do have two cats though, but that's ok because neither of them read and stay away from the stock. Upon purchasing a book, your order will be processed and packed listening to some form of heavy metal, single copies tend to be sent bubble wrapped in a jiffy bag reinforced with some cardboard to keep down postage costs while still offering security, multiple orders will be sent boxed with packing chips. Digital Postal Scales is what I use to quote shipping prices to give international customers the best quote. Airmail postage is the norm but the UK does still offer Surface Mail delivery, which can take an age (around 8 weeks for the US and up to 12 weeks for Australia) but if there's no rush on the books getting to you it can sometimes be up to half the price of what Airmail would be. I tend not to use insurance on posting books as I like to think that us collectors are all an honourable bunch and up till now I've had very few problem, but I'll supply insurance at the extra cost if it's what you want for piece of mind. The books are all posted from my local post office, so as it's only 10 minutes from my house fast posting is guaranteed. At the post office I usually get served by a guy named Phil, for those of you that want to know that kind of detail.
I think that'll just about cover the basics, now without further a do lets get this going.
