Hey Gene,
I'm betting you get this a lot...hell you answered it for me in an email some time ago, but could you possibly list the books and or stories that make up the Cal Wild epic? Possibly in order from earliest to the latest?
I think it would be cool to follow its progression as it evolved.

Begin with the introductory novels: THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH (JUST FINISHED) and THE BURDEN OF INDIGO. The order of the stories when collected in THE CAL WILD CHRONICLES: Near Future--The Armless Conductor, Mojave Transfer, The Scarlet Man, Doc Good's Traveling Show, and Jade; Far Future--The Great Northern Sweet Water Raid, Nostalgia, The Hungry Skull, On The North Slope of Little Agony, and Down on the 01 Level. That's the order to read them in, but not necessarily how I published them. Gene

So, I guess Jade and Not Fade Away fall behind those?
When do you think the chronicles will be out?
Looks like I need to find Indigo. St. Zach was the 1st book I read of yours and I loved it. I'd like to get them all and then read the whole shebang from beginning to end.

Oh, is Deathflash part of the series? Nope - it's part of another series that includes SHADOW OF THE DARK ANGEL. NOT FADE AWAY is also not part of the Cal Wild series. You may want to grab THE BAJA EXPRESS - it contains THE BURDEN OF INDIGO, The Armless Conductor, Mojave Transfer and The Scarlet Man. Jan

Jan is right. SHADOW, DEATHFLaSH, and the soon to be released tpb from SSP, DOUBLEJACK (appearing at Killercon) are what might be called the Green Hornet and Cato series. NOT FADE AWAY is an expansion of "The Apotheosis of Nathan McKee," so I guess it would be a Tenderloin story. My agent has THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH (a full 100k word novel now) and THE BURDEN of INDIGO, and soon THE CAL WILD CHRONICLES, these three can be called the Cal Wild trilogy. He's showing them to mass market folks. But next year all three will be published by the specialty press, probably BMB but no contracts yet. JADE is on the above Cal Wild list. gene

I'll settle for the Doc Good book for now though. I already have a design in mind. Actually, from the moment I heard the title, what the book will look like flashed in my head...when I read it...the idea turned to concrete. :-)

Uh-huh...Doc Good's? I was born in the wagon of traveling show, Mama used to dance for the money they'd throw, Papa used to do whatever he could, preach a little gospel, sell a bottle or two of Doctor Good... Right/ can't wait. Gene
