Anyone heard the new Trent Reznor project How to Destroy Angels? Or are there any Reznor fans out there? I downloaded the free EP about a month ago, and today downloaded the high quality EP (plus bought a t-shirt). I'm really digging it and love Reznor's sound. His wife has an amazing voice IMO. Hope they do a full tour soon. Any thoughts? Love? Hate? Here's a link to the band... www.howtodestroyangels.com/

Shit, I hadn't heard about this. Usually, a buddy of mine keeps me updated on all things Reznor/NIN. Thanks for the heads-up...I'm off to check out the link!

I downloaded the EP a few weeks ago, and I dig it. Upon first listen, I did think just about every song had that "it's gonna kick in any moment, I just know it . . . but then it never did" feel (does that make any sense?), but a lot of that probably has to do with the fact that it's a Trent Reznor project so I had certain (unfair?) expectations going into it.
That's not necessarily a diss, however. My favorite NIN songs are the slower, more "haunting" tunes anyway.
The HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS project is quiet, understated. Moody. Not something I'll be listening to all the time, but I still dig it quite a bit. Cool music to write to.

Well to be fair though Reznor did say recently this is a very early look at what the full length album will look like. I get what you're saying James completely.
I look for a lot out of Reznor because I know what he's capable of. This EP came out sounding a lot like NIN with a female singer. I dig it though because his wife has a beautiful voice IMO and I'm a huge fan of NIN's slower paced, more melodic type of sound.
You might be happy to hear that I also recently read that Reznor (despite popular opinion) is not done with NIN. In fact he said he is working on a completely new NIN sound. I know I'm excited!
