Hello, all.
Figured that it was time to update everyone on what's going on with our 2011 publication schedule. After a very ambitious 2010, we hit some hiccups at the end due to the new store and, well, our new baby. However, I've spent the last two months getting several titles ready for release and making some heads-or-tales of what the new year will look like. We have a lot on our plate, so we hope folks are hungry. We'll also be making some changes that I'll touch upon in another post.
POISONING EROS - We had an issue with signature sheets that put a speed-bump in the production schedule. My printer and binder are just waiting for the sig sheets to arrive, then work will begin on these immediately. My apologies for the delay. As a result of this, from now on I won't be putting hardcovers up for pre-order until the binder is working on them.
BREAKING EGGS - Deluxe Hardcover - As I mentioned earlier, we released the trade edition of this one to take advantage of the fact that both authors were going to be at a local convention. The HC is now slated for March release. Those who have been waiting for this one will be pleased to know that it will contain extra art, a bonus story featuring characters from the novella, and a very comical back-and-forth afterword between Kurt and L.L. detailing their contentious creative process.
CHAPBOOK SERIES II - There will be some changes to this, which I will detail later. However, the second set of books (REVENGE FLICK! by James Newman and A FISTFUL OF ZOMBIES by Dave Greske) are done and ready to go to the printer. The softcovers for this set will be out the first week of February with the HC to follow. This time around, we will allow people to buy the hardcovers separately.
SIDESHOW DIGITAL - The next digital release for this one will be MOUNTAINS OF SMOKE by Frank Duffy. This guy is a fantastically talented writer and storyteller, and we'll be publishing several things from him this year. As for the hardcover editions, AS I EMBRACE MY JAGGED EDGES will be bound my Mr. Hedges, and we expect that to ship at the end of February. Jeff Goddin's THE SMELL OF CHERRIES will be a mini-collection of four stories. This one will ship at the end of March.
TALES FROM THE MIDNIGHT SHIFT VOL.1 by Mark Allan Gunnells will ship in early February. This 320 page, 6 x 8" collection will be the first release in our limited hardcover series. Books in this series will be novel-length books or collections and will retail for between $20 and $25. They will be case-wrapped hardcovers very similar to the style of BLACK INK HORROR. We're hoping that those trying to stretch their book-buying dollars will enjoy this new series.
Finally the WHISONANT/CREATURES OF THE LIGHT trade will be in on Monday. This book by Mark Allan Gunnells is number four in the First Cut series and features two novellas. The binder has already begun work on the HC, and we expect those to ship at the end of the month.
That's all for now. I will be updating on other titles, including Ray Garton's THREESOME, very soon.
