(I figured the thread title would get more attention!) I just received BREAKING EGGS and THE WAKE this afternoon, and I had to post a few comments: First, the books are beautiful. I wasn't expecting the Newman chapbook to be ready to ship immediately, so that was a bonus. And I got matching numbers! Nice! A received a letter from Tom and Bille last week, laying out Sideshow's future plans, and I decided immediately that I would make a purchase as soon as the store opened. Billie also put a nice little note on my order receipt. That's the kind of thing that makes a HUGE difference. I'll probably always buy CD's books....They're usually very affordable and they have great deals. But I've been dropping other small presses left and right. I just dropped two subscriptions, partly because of money concerns, partly because the books that are coming up just don't interest me. But that kind of personal touch guarantees that I'll be hanging around to see what Sideshow has in the pipeline, and more likely than not, I'll continue to make purchases from them. I really appreciate the fact that you guys actually value your customers. The books look great, the shipping was cheap, and they arrived FAST. I cannot wait to dig in.....Nice work! Well done, Sideshow.

Yup, put me down for basically the same gripes . . . . except I want to add a gripe about the perfect packaging - in a box that even my USPS couldn't damage. ;D
Thanks for making it a fun experience, Jan

I just received said letter and was about to start a similar thread.
I love Sideshow, both for the content of their stories and the quality of their work. But with this simple, personal gesture, they are now ahead of the pack.
Love your work, guys!

You know, it's funny, Tom told me, "You gotta see the new thread on the crypt." I asked what was up, would it upset me, and Tom said, "I don't want to ruin it, just read it." I sit down after making dinner to read this thread, and damn, it made my day (two days in a row!) Glad you guys are digging the letters, Tom and I thought it would be a cool idea to send out actual snail mail letters (even to our overseas customers). Just in case someone didn't know about the new site, or the Crypt, or facebook. I always love getting actual mail, so figured it would be a fun way to introduce everyone to the new store. Thank you so much for the comments!!!

I got Breaking Eggs and The Wake today as well, and as usual they look great. And Sideshow Press always packages their books very carefully so no one gets bent up product.

It's kind of cool realizing I've been a part of Sideshow since almost the beginning. I appeared in one of the first Black Ink Horrors (back when Tom was Tim). I've since appeared in another BIH, published a chapbook, and have some other stuff coming up that no one can talk about (or suffer a quick painful death). In all this time, I can't emphasize enough how great it has been to work with Tom and Billie.
Being a customer has been great but being a writer for them has been fantastic. They really treat us story spinners well and never put a choke hold on our creativity.
It has been a great ride so far and seeing the course Tom and Billie have laid out has got me really excited about where Sideshow is going and where I'm going with them.
Also, to those who purchase our dark tales, thank you. Unless you haven't purchased one. In that case, you need to get off your ass and buy something. How about starting with The Reverend's Powder? ;D

I too feel the same way as y'all do about getting that personal letter from Tom/Billie. They do go that extra mile at being friendly and personable. And I'm also happy to hear that Tom picked up one of my short stories for future publication. It makes me feel like I'm finally a part of this warm and growing family!

As a writer, I have to agree with Erik, it's a real pleasure being a part of the Sideshow family. It feels like home to me.

I love SP books as well as Tom and Billie. Great customer service and the author choices rock and the production values are very innovative and usually very very well done. I get a SP book in the post and it's read within days. Can't wait for more.
