Love that, Jason! And we've talked about coming your way up to hike the Scottish highlands. So, as they say, be careful what you wish for. It would indeed be a pleasure to meet you and your family. Thanks for the support, mate. Gene

I think I've mentioned GRAMS is autobiographical. My brother (who is the character Vic in the story) said the tale brought back memories (he helped me ream out and wash the pipe) and gave the story a double thumbs up. He's a tough reader, so I breathed a sigh of relief. Gene

Read both stories in work tonight (sorry boss ;D)
I enjoyed both, Fiona could appear in future stories? I would like to know more about her and her background. Grams was a fun read and I didn't see the twist coming at the end!
Lovely little hardcover book!

Jason: Fiona is my granddaughter's name. GRAMS is mostly true including the pipe scene. An aside, Fiona just survived a true horror story. She goes to the elementary school near San Diego, where the nutty shooter jumped the playground fence and shot two 2nd graders. They are fine, Fiona is fine. But I guess there is a story there. Gene

She's fine and the two little girls who were shot are back at school--getting lots of attention naturally. One aid was very lucky: the guy aimed at her a few feet away and the gun misfired. They don't know much about motivation, except he picked the school because of easy access to the playground. No other reason. There may be a story here, but I may not be the right guy to write it.
