Gene;
First, I hope I got the title of this forthcoming book right. Do you know when we might see it released? I believe the original date of publication was intended for Spring 2010. Isn't the publisher Bad Moon Books?

Steve: The next Cal Wild book will be from SSP, called: CHRONICLES OF THE DOUBLE SPARROW. But I think you might be referring to back sometime ago when I was considering doing all the Cal Wild stories including the novelette THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH in two books from BMB. But I've decide to expand St. Zach into a full novel and bunch the remaining stories in one big book called CAL WILD. So the Cal Wild Sequence will be: THE BURDEN OF INDIGO, THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH (a prequel), and the sequel, CAL WILD. In addition to tying in to INDIGO, St. Zach will set up all the Cal Wild stories in the sequel nicely I think. Gene

I now understand that Cal Wild is a sequel. I'm referencing another thread here so bear with me-Cal Wild will contain all the stories, novelettes, and novellas? To get the complete enchilada one should have - THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH (unpublished) - THE BURDEN OF INDIGO - CAL WILD (unpublished) - CHRONICLES OF THE DOUBLE SPARROW Did I miss anything? Where/how does COLLECTED TALES OF THE BAJA EXPRESS fit in? Steve Gene

I get all confused with all the different stories but looks like things could be good Gene. So, St.Zach will be a full novel? Cool, will it have the same story as the original but will be longer? And one big book with the remaining stories sounds good. Who will be publishing that? Cheers Jason.

Okay, CHRONICLES OF THE DOUBLE SPARROW includes three Cal Wild tales plus a lengthy introduction by Gord Rollo and lengthy afterword which describes the beginning of the sequence of stories at the Twilight Zone magazine. It also includes a summary list in chronological order of all the tales. The book CAL WILD will collect the three tales from COLLECTED TALES OF THE BAJA EXPRESS and the three from CHRONICLES OF THE DOUBLE SPARROW plus four other tales all in the proper chronological order. It will include short narratives linking the stories. I've considered doing a final original--we'll see. Okay? Gene

You're right, Jason. Probably 130K words before the interlinking narrative between stories. But I suspect THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH is going to be 90K plus itself. Make up for INDIGO, which I think is just over 60K words (although I may add another journal entry and touch this one up a taste, adding 10K words). So much for speculations from a disturbed mind, eh. gene

I know I mentioned it before Gene, but this series would do very well in the video game realm. Fallout 3, Borderlands, and other "futuristic wasteland" games are being eaten up right now!
I wish I knew more people in the game industry, or I'd point you to them. It would be cool to pick a criminal character and choose the color (therefore crime) and then wander around Cal Wild and interact with the other crazies! It's called a "sand box" game, where you can go anywhere and do just about anything and the story unravels in different ways, determined by your actions.

Ben: I wish I knew more about all the different gaming opportunities. But I don't. I suppose that's what I have an agent for. Thanks for the interest. You, too, John. Gene
