No one has really talked just how important artwork is to Sideshow Press. I know TOm, an artist himself, is very committed to providing top-notch art with all his offerings. That's why I was so excited to see the Dark Canvas line, it was a perfect pairing for SSP. They are very serious about having art that highlights and enhances the stories, and they have a great arsenal of talent. Tony Karnes has done some work on my own stuff that I think is amazing, as was his work in the 2010 SSP calendar. My favorite artist is still Tom himself, the cover he did for the paperback of my chapbook so perfectly captured the feeling of the title stoy that I was amazed. And he has done some work for an upcoming project where he took something that I had envisioned in my head and made it so much scarier and just plain better.

I'm always amazed how Tom can provide art that enhances the story - without giving away the author's next surprise twist. I really enjoy the whole package.

Two of my favorite covers are the one for Gonzalez's Secrets and the upcoming Fiona and Grams by O'Neill. They have very different vibes and yet are just perfect for the stories.

lol - Tom knows this from a discussion on another Board - I almost passed on SECRETS because of the cover art. Thankfully, I decided to try it and as soon as I read the story I realized that the cover and interior art was perfect for J F's story. I'm fascinated by SIDESHOW EXHIBITS - every time I look at the cover I spot something new. Jan

Oh yes, the cover of Sideshow Exhibits that inspired all the stories, it is wonderfully rich and detailed and there's so much going on. It truly is a breath-taking piece.

Some of the work Tom has done for my upcoming book WHISONANT I think is among his best. Check out the thread "WHISONANT/CREATURES OF THE LIGHT" to get a peek, I love the cover he did for my novella "Creatures of the Light" and there is an illustration he did of the actual creatures that I think is phenomenal.

I 100% agree with you Mark. One of the reasons I love SSP is the artwork in the books. It just enhances an already great story when I'm reading.
