I'm not sure how many writers and especially newer writers are on the site. But I wrote this little philosophy of mine on my message board, and it generated some nice responses.
Of course we all have ups and downs. This Thanksgiving I was reminded of a question I've thought about often. Q: If you could be anything in the world, what would you be? My answer is: A writer! How many people are able to live their answer to that question? Yes, I know it's hard for young writers to find the time, deal with the day job, respond to family emergencies, juggle kids' and spouses' needs, and then try to knock out a few words stealing sleeping time. It can be very discouraging. But when you feel at loose ends, try and ask yourself the above question. It *always* makes me feel better.

I don't have an answer to that, but it wouldn't be painter.
