My first novel BAD BLOOD is due for release later this year from Dark Regions, but in the meantime I've just finished a 40K novella and have started another novel with a SciFi/Horror slant. I can only imagine how much writing I'd get done if this pesky full-time job wasn't in the way Nice work, Scott. Can't wait to read both! Waiting for the first round of edits on the rewrite of Hammered, and discussing with a well-published author the possibility of making a short documentary about the drug-issues outlined in the story. I have unprecedented access to the people involved in the use and distribution of heroin in Melbourne suburbs, and could access some very touching stories from those actually involved in it. It would make a good promotional tool, and possibly lead to a low-budget film based around the book. I am very excited with the possibilities...

Certainly something I would be interested in watching.

For the first time in ages, I'm working on multiple projects at once, most of them collaborations. A futuristic story that I think book-lovers will love called "Book Haven" with my friend Melissa Hatchell; a locked room mystery of sorts with Benjamin Kane Ethridge; and a story that will blend the written word with illustrations in what I hope will be an interesting way with artist Tony Karnes.

Today I started my zombie novella FORT, a follow up of sorts to ASYLUM. Not a direct sequel, but set in the same "universe."

How dark we talking there fella? Cause you know I'm looking for a follow up to Family Business. Everyone here got themselves a copy of Family Business? I know I been away for a bit so I might have missed all ya'll talking about how awesome you found it. I LOVED Family Business and am also looking for a follow up Jack: As far as the dark erotic novella goes... it's nothing like Family Business. Sorry. If you like fantasy, you might be interested in my upcoming short story "The Dancer at Brokkton Inn." I still don't have a title for the novella. I sort of tired of trying to find a publisher for Family Business. I waited for about a year only to find out it had been lost by one publisher. I didn't feel like resubmitting it. I tried some small press publishers but they weren't excited about something that had been self-published, or I didn't have enough name recognition yet. Jack and Squeaky: Sorry there hasn't been a follow-up to Family Business yet. I'm a slacker. However, I've made some life changes which allow me more time to write again. Eventually, Family Business will be part of a loosely-connected series of novels, totaling four or five. The manuscripts are finished for three. The actual follow-up to Family Business is half finished. The only problem is the first two were early manuscripts and need to be rewritten. I've put them off because they deal with subject matter nearly any publisher would pass on. Lately, though, due to some successes, I've thought about self-publishing the four, not trying to find a publisher for them. Anything else beyond those four or five I'd sit on until a publisher is found. Sorry again... too much info, huh?

I just finished edits on "The Dancer at Brokkton Inn" short story last night. It will be available from Hellfire Publishing at the end of the month. I'm one of their premier writers. Don't let the beautiful cover art fool you. Dancer was written as a Conan-esque tale. I think the cover artist typically does romance covers.

Never too much info man, That's crazy to hear about no one picking up Family Business. A damn shame too. I'd say it was one of the best books I read in 2009, fuck it, it be one of the best books I read in any year. See I don't know if me saying that is a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to getting folks interested in reading it. I kinda think that when I say something is Hardcore or Siction, folks be thinking that it's... what's that terms people use? Gross out... that's the one. I fucking hate that term, Makes me feel like the story is just something to repulse and that's it you know? Like something 'Gross Out' can't possibly have any substance or back bone. Well that's just fucking bullshit right there. So I never use that term, cause it sounds cheap. It breaks my heart to know that you ain't sitting pretty somewhere selling a shit load of books and getting royalty cheques falling out yer ass. You know? I mean especially in this day and age when horror is getting so diluted and authors be jumping cross genres left right and fucking center. 'Family Business' is something pure, it doesn't try and be something else except what it is man, horror at it's most base form. Human Horror, none of that supernatural creaky floorboard stuff. I'm gonna go ahead and put up my link for the book in my ebay store. cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brett-Williams-FAMILY-BUSINESS-SIGNED-HARDCORE-SICTION-/370489344491?pt=Fiction&hash=item5642e2c1ebNow that ain't cause I wanna push my own sales here, I just think that folks be needing to get themselves a copy of this and start talking about it so we can get Brett Williams on the fucking map. I sure hope you do get them other 'Family Business' books out, whether or not it's self published or not cause I'll take a stack no fucking questions asked. I mean, I know folks tend to look at self published stuff as second rate, almost like 'If a real publisher ain't gonna publish him then it can't be any good'. Well I don't know about all that, but I'm gonna take this book as an expample of an exception to that rule. The fact that you put that book out there made my life better man. Anyhoo I could go on about this book all day long, and it would be justified too, but I'm gonna stop right here before folks start making up stories about men and you...
