I had this posted at the Mall, but, well, you know. So I thought I'd go ahead and get this section kicked off with some pics. Swan Song is probably one of my favorite books of all time and I've bought dozens of copies. I've bought so many because, they all end up falling apart due to the thickness and binding of the book. So, I found an oversized edition from Pocket Books and rebound it to make it stronger and dare I say, a little prettier? haha Anyway, this is what all my other copies end up looking like--this particular one is held together with friggin' packing tape! So, I bought this edition-- Ripped the cover off and divided the text block into two sections, Book One and Book Two-- I took this cool, soft, white deerskin-- Made two covers and stamped them in gold. Added some parchment to the front and back of each section of the text blocks-- I took the artwork from the Dark Harvest limited edition and used it for endsheets, printed in archival ink on heavy linen-- The finished books-- These should last pretty much forever. I'm going to build a slipcase for them as well, but got caught up in a couple of book projects for a couple of publishers and had to stop. My favorite thing about them is how they feel in your hands. Perfect fit and sooooo soft. That's that. :-) ~C

I think I want to do this same thing with The Bachman Books. But I have to find a 1985 Plume edition that doesn't look like it's been run over by a city bus. It has the text block broken down into sections like I want them, including the cover art from the original paperback releases.
