First of, H, thanks so much for posting this. When Billie and I first got into publishing limited editions, back with DIFFERENT SEASONS, I remember a bunch of the collectors posting pics on one of the forums showing their collections. I remember commenting to Billie that it sure would be cool if we ever got to the point where people actually could have Sideshow collections. At the time, it seemed so far fetched that we would ever get to that point. To see them all displayed...wow. Thank you for your incredible support.
As for RAW MEAT, I count it as a Sideshow title. We formed "Sideshow Press" around the time I got handed publishing duties for Wicked Karnival magazine. I cut my teeth on the 'zine, learning how to format and publish on the fly. RAW MEAT, an anthology for the Carnival of Wicked Writers message board members, was originally going to go through Cyber Pulp (remember them?). However, it was pulled by the original editor, and handed to me. Boy, could I tell some horror stories about that one. It was a bit of a nightmare (my art for it was stolen, the signature stickers took over a year to circulate, I didn't know what the hell I was doing), and it almost drove me out of publishing.
However, instead of walking away from publishing all together, Billie and I wanted to try one more time with a publication that ONLY she and I were in charge of. That's when Black Ink Horror was born.
So, historically speaking, without the debacle that was RAW MEAT, there would be no Black Ink Horror, no Trever Palmer and DIFFERENT SEASONS, and you would have a couple more empty shelves.
I hope that explanation wasn't too long and boring!
Cool.
I always wondered if this title is actually a SP publication though. I can't seem to figure it out but it's suspect.
