I just got back from a New England vacation where it rained every day I managed to hit quite a few used book stores tho. Most were a little anemic in the horror department. One on the way out of Portsmouth NH while closed, looked like moldy books were falling out of its windows and doors-very scary I finally found one worth spending some time digging around. Unfortunately my wife was waiting for me in the car. After the third time she called me and hung up eliciting a rousing rendition of Turkey in the Straw from my cell phone (including gobbles) I managed to pick up a first ed. of Duma Key in pristine condition for chickenfeed and get to the car before my beloved turned into an ogre

I got a copy of the trade papaerback of THE EMPTY MILE. Fucking amazed to see that my store actually managed to get my copy in and I was fucking disgusted to see that it's got deckle page edging. I hate that shit, you should have seen my face when I seen it, it went through 3 emotions in 5 seconds. From elation, to confusion to rage just like that. I'm sure there is a reason behind it, but I just don't care. I hate the feel of it, the look of it and everything about it. I'm sure I'll love the book, but I'd be really interested to know if the limited has got the same disease.

I just put three books on layaway at the Mall. Something Lumber This Way Comes by Joe R. Lansdale, Shadow of the Dark Angel by Gene O'Neill, and The Adventures of Mr. Bacchus and His Travelling Circus by Clive Barker. In four short months, those bad boys will be mine.

I don't think there was a bad book in that entire batch you loaned me. And I still have that full set of Resi Evil novels when you want to read 'em...
